BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Apollodotos II, circa 85-65 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 9.70 g, 12 h), Indian standard, uncertain mint in the Punjab. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΩΣ ΚΑΙ ΦΙΛΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ - ΑΠΟΛΛΟΔΟΤΟΥ Diademed and draped bust of Apollodotos II to right. Rev. 'Maharajasa tratarasa Apaladatasa' ('of the Great King Apollodotos the Saviour' in Karoshti) Athena advancing left, holding shield on her left arm and brandishing thunderbolt with her right; to left and right, monograms. Bopearachchi 3B. HGC 12, 389. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
